I would have to agree with Dave, I have also seen my gimbal twitch and drift but once in the air its fine, even after a flight it seems to lock steady. New feature looks cool, can't wait to get my AD6 set up dialed in to free up X2 for the new feature.

If your batteries are wired in parallel the cell count is the same as the one battery as is the voltage, As stated before two 4s in parallel = 4s not 8s. make sure you use two identical batteries and keep them together as a pair and if possible use a dual battery charger and charge together.

Those pitch and roll gains seem high, what size props you using? My GPS lock takes unto 5mins at times, I can't think why higher gains would reduce lock on times, is this what you are suggesting?

Only an idea but could they not compensate by shutting down the opposite motor at the same time using attitude feedback? After all DJI is one of the FCs you pay the most for with the least features.

Thanks Dave, that's the info I was looking for. Makes sense that the FC can make quicker adjustments to rotor speed if the prop/motor combo are not too big for the application.

Total takeoff weight Inc payload is 5kg, good idea using cheap props for test. As long as I'm on the right track to improving stability with something smaller than 13"

They have to take it seriously, we pay a serious price for this kit! I bet most suffer from this anomaly but either don't see it or don't have a gimbal like AV130/200 I hope more reading this add their experience if suffering this problem and that someone from DJI read this.
