Discussion What "drones" do you own?

Roger that. I started flying nitro helicopters back in 1990, and back then we didn't have autopilots or any from of electronic stabilization. All of the cyclic mixing was mechanical. The only "help" we had was a mechanical gyro (spinning mass).

Discussion What "drones" do you own?

I gave up on the meds, made me too loopy to ride or fly. I have a ' 99 Honda Goldwing GL-1500 SE for frequently needed wind therapy sessions 'cause you never see a motorcycle parked outside of a shrink's office.... BTW, do helis count? I have two 450 FBLs, one has a penta-head and a custom...

Discussion What "drones" do you own?

I don't have any "drones." I have several multi rotor aircraft, from toy grades all the way to a full blown hexacopter AP platform. My best aircraft is one I haven't flown yet and my favorite is the aircraft I'm flying.

Best FC for a new Hexacopter build.

No problem. If you need help with your Taranis, there are very active owner threads on RCG: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1866206 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1914834 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2451551...

Best FC for a new Hexacopter build.

IMNSHO, Pixhawk is a much better choice, but a more pressing problem is I think you have chosen the wrong platform. At 2.27 Kilos AUW (All Up Weight), the motors you have chosen and the prop sizes you are limited to by the frame size do not have enough power to give you a stable hover at 50%...

    Thrttle too sensitive please help

I'm gettin' in on this late, but Chipwitch hit the nail on the head. What Andy is dealing with is called Dead Band. When you switch from a non-GPS flight mode like Stabilize/Auto Level to a GPS flight mode like Loiter/Position Hold, the flight controller firmware puts a Dead Band around...

Best transmitter and receiver for a newbie

I beg to differ. I've been flying off on on for 26 years. I've had Futaba, JR, Airtronics, Fly Sky, and Taranis. I use a Fly Sky TH9x with a FrSky XJT module to fly my 250 racer and I can swap in a stock Fly Sky module when I want to yank and bank my X-525, but when I break out my x-666...

    battery flight time question

To answer a question like this we need much more detail as in frame type, motors, props, ESCs, flight controller, bling (leds, wheel spinners, Super Fly grill,), accessories (gimbal, camera, retracts, FPV gear), aircraft DRY weight (no battery installed) preferably in grams (metric is easier to...

Naza m Lite with FlySKy FX-CT6B problem

Yeppers. These flight controllers can really screw you up if you're not careful. The Germans are famous for using Brown for ground. Porsche, VW, Bosch, and Blaupunk are good examples...

Naza m Lite with FlySKy FX-CT6B problem

I don't have a NAZA but I do have two of the receivers you are using, and the most glaring error I see is you have the plugs for the servo leads in 180 degrees out. The YELLOW Signal wires should be IN and the Brown ground wires should be OUT.

    Stumblin' around the 'Net..

While I was waitin' for batteries to charge I took a stroll on the 'Net. Wasn't watchin' where I was goin', and I tripped over a crack in the side walk smack at your front door, so I figured I'd knock and say Hi. Name's Cliff, but my friends call me Chief. Retired from the Navy back in '92...
