    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

I don't, unfortunately. I'd like to try one out though. Thanks for the input. I really wish I knew exactly what the problem is before jumping to an entirely new frame! The M680 4S is the one I'm eyeballing.

Is this a bit over the top ?

Heh... here I am talking like a hotshot about knowing your evasive maneuvers, and yet I fly my Phantom so rarely that I forgot you can kill the motors in flight

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

I actually considered a radio problem last night and swapped to my JR 11x with a clean program and good receiver... same thing. I also tried a KK2 board but apparently I'd forgotten it was bad. Oops. New scratch on the coffee table  If I hadn't spent so much time doing a clean...

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

I just had a friend offer to give me a T1000 frame as payment for taking on his T15 build (he's too busy), but I doubt I'd have the extra funds to build it up within the next year or two. I wouldn't mind trying one of their bigger ones, though. I think I'm going to try one more thing before...

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

Test flew after mounting the FC on the gel pad today... no change at all. I guess that's it for this frame :(

Let us know what your favorite brand of radio equipment is

I've used all the major brands except Jeti. I always come back to Futaba and JR. Work aircraft both have 14SGs and I have my own, plus a JR 11X.

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

I might give Arris a shot. Looks an awful lot like the Tarot so I dunno lol. I'm taking your advice before I disassemble though, I ordered a gel anti-vibration pad to try. That's the end of my rope.

Wind Performance — Coax vs. Flat

Yeah. Long moments with a lot of weight on the end are a bad idea in any situation when it comes to these things, unless you're flying straight up and then coming straight down.

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

Welp, I fully reassembled the Tarot and got it test flown today.... same crap. I think I'm giving up on this frame. I haven't tried a suspension mount, but I'm not convinced that it would make a significant difference. I might give that a shot if I can figure something out though. Any...

Is this a bit over the top ?

That Slick would have still fallen under SUAS rules as it's in the 40-50lbs range. AFAIK the dimensions are unrestricted (could be wrong but I don't recall seeing that anywhere). I didn't hear about those, sounds like it's more common than I thought! Luckily nobody has been injured so far. My...

Is this a bit over the top ?

C-130 overtook and collided with a Shadow UAV right before I arrived in Afghanistan (I had a near miss with a helicopter while flying a similar UAV a year or so later). Neither would be in the FAA database, but neither qualify as small, either (both well over 55lbs, closer to 400-500). There...

Is this a bit over the top ?

There have been a couple of impacts with larger aircraft... they were both fixed wing (one RC, one UAV) but no multirotors to my knowledge.

DroneVibes Drone Giveaway Contest! What drone should we award as the prize?

EDIT: I'm changing my vote to Inspire since I know I need one

What are your go-to sites for parts?

Thanks Chalagi, several I didn't know about and had forgotten about in those lists.

What are your go-to sites for parts?

Yeah, that's been a big help. I was tired of waiting 2-3 weeks for my stuff even when using the "fast" shipping. Got it, thanks!

What are your go-to sites for parts?

Thanks for Multirotormania, I hadn't heard of that one. Helipal is all Hong Kong, right? No US warehouse? I've ordered from them before but it was a long time ago... great selection. I always get them mixed up with HeliDirect.

What are your go-to sites for parts?

I'm trying to find a one-stop-shop for multirotor parts but it seems like a lot of places tend to gravitate toward one brand or another and don't have a good selection. I've used Quadrocopter, Intelligent UAS, GetFPV, ReadyMadeRC, Hobby Wireless, Foxtech, Hobbyking and a bunch of others, some...

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

Yeah, I did that before the whole experimentation process I just did, and also made sure they were level when reassembling this time.

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

The controller case is itself definitely level, it's mounted directly to the top plate with the aforementioned double sided (thin) tape. I bought it new specifically for this aircraft. I don't think that it's defective because I tried it on my F450 frame and it worked perfectly... but with the...

    Tarot FY650 yaw problem

She's back together, and somewhat more cleanly than before, so I guess something good came out of this mess. Now to start troubleshooting all over again. I did notice something odd. This had never happened before... my idle speed was set too low in the Naza assistant, so the motors wouldn't...
