Why use 3 degree offset plates?

For some reason Mikrokopter recommends the use of the following on their MRs. But why? Is it just to increase the rate of yaw on both directions when the pilot calls for it or is their another reason? http://www.mikrokopter.de/ucwiki/en/AngleAdapter

    WKM on Cinestar Octocopter

Has anyone on this forum been able to successfully install the WKM and fly it on the Cinestar Octocopter? Seems the WKM IMU needs to be mounted on the DJI anti-vibration platform to work properly but how would one achieve this on the Cinestar 8? Here is some...

    When to retire LiPos!

I am hoping there is a simpler way to determine when to retire the LiPos on my MR. Is there a direct correlation between battery line loss and battery internal resistance? If so I am hoping to gauge battery retirement by means of the later. The DJI method for retiring batteries requires multiple...

    Need Retracts for Cinestar8

Anyone have any ideas what where I can buy good quality retracts for a Cinestar 8. It will initially carry a GoPro3 Black and a short time later the plan is to carry a Panasonic GH? micro 4/3 camera using a 3 axis gimbal.

    Possible future for MR design!

A friend heavily involved in Engineering R&D with a strong interest in MRs asked about a possible hybrid design for MRs...... most of us have thought about it looking for better solutions for heavy lift in conjunction with longer flight times. I have seen a couple of Youtube videos from Russia...

    Aerial Videos of Golf courses

When doing golf course fairways from tee-off to pin how are MR pilots doing these? Especially for the longer holes, e.g., 500 yards. Are pilots using FPV and/or autonomous waypoint flights?

    Ground Control Station question

When flying in waypoint mode via LK900 from Ground Control station does the S800/WKM always keep the front of the MR pointed directly at the target waypoint? Or will the MR sometimes yaw to one side of the other while approaching the waypoint? I ask this question because I am not able to keep...

    Random yaw

My 800mm Hex flies straight and true in still air in GPS and Attitude mode using the WooKong M. But when there is a slight breeze, it seems to yaw quite a bit without RC stick input. Is this normal? Seems my WKM on a previous F550 did not do this... Will yaw gain adjustment help? I need to make...

    MultiCopter Dihedral

Originally I wondered why the DJI S800 motor arms were tilted upward at the end of each motor arm. A closer look at several other newer Hex and Octoframe designs shows they are now doing the same. Some are 3 degrees and some are up to 10 degrees dihedral. 10 degrees seems a bit excessive and...

    Developing FPV Skills

Anyone have suggestions on how one should hone their FPV flying skills...... I tried to do a flyover on a 500 yard Hole at a local golf course and lost orientation by switching my eyes back and forth between visual and FPV with a screen. Fortunately there was no golfers around. Was luck to get...

    S800 Motor comparisons

For DIY individuals and others looking to control MR hardware costs, here is a motor comparison between the Tarot and the Turnigy Multistar Pancake style motors using eCalc. Both motors offer thrust and efficiencies that are in the same ballpark as the original DJI - S800 motors. Please advise...

End in sight for current MR designs!

Is it possible that the following coax design could ultimately replace most current MR designs? It appears that this design would have the same degree of stability and control as current day quads, hexs, octos etc. But in addition it would have the benefit of faster forward flight and...

Taming Manual Mode with WKM on 800mm MR airframe

Finally got back in to trying manual mode on my custom RCT800 c/w the Turnigy Multistar 420kv motors and 15 inch props. As soon as I flipped from attitude to manual mode, the MR goes into high gear, climbing hard and fast. I would like to tame the manual mode.... just too much to handle now...
