I recently built a tricopter based on the rcexplorer designs. I used a whitespy FCB. I can't seem to make it fly. I need one of two things. #1: I need someone who is well versed in multiwii who can meet with me and spend some time hacking this thing into a flying machine. I live in Carteret...
Sigh. Assembled. Only to find I have a bad ESC. Also discovered that my orangerx receiver bit the dust. Not sure how that happened. I can't experiment further until I get the esc replaced. With readytoflyquads.com it's most likely another month of no tricopter.
Motors epoxied and bullets installed. Wires and electronics mounted. Tilt mechanism almost done. Pretty much all that is left is to balance the motors and props, install the motors and tail servo, and tidy up. Oh and put on heat shrink because I ran out. I ran a UBEC to power the servo. I then...
Arms painted. Tail boom is silver instead of yellow. Hopefully it shows up. I also cut some lexan for a cover over the board and installed a piece of foam over the barometer. I have my laser pointer and mirror so when the motors come in I can start balancing them. It's getting close to go time.
So, speed controllers soldered up. I had wanted to do a more streamlined setup but in the end I opted for the standard 2 power leads/3 motor leads all with 3mm barrels. I painted the wood and soldered/installed the harness. I also mounted the FCB, bluetooth module, and orangerx 6 channel...
Whitespy speed controllers were delivered today. Time to break out the soldering iron and start the wire harness and ESC mounting. Once some ebay money clears paypal my motors will be inbound.
Got the 9XR module installed. Took a long antenna from an old eflite transmitter and installed It in the handle and ran the end down into the module. I can't just pop the module out but I don't plan to remove it For a while anyway. The radio is clean on the back and sits nice and flat.
Just a quick update. Whitespy esc's inbound.....finally. The last few dollars to complete the buuld are pending in my PayPal account so as soon as they are free I will be ordering the parts.
I sold my Orangerx T6 transmitter and purchased the Turnigy 9XR. I burnt the module out the first...
