4S Battery with 10 inch graupners?

Hey guys,

My F450 is up and running with 10 inch graupners.

I am running a go pro + mount which comes to 300 grams.

When running a 3S 3350mah lipo in atti mode the quad hovers at about 60% throttle not 50%. At 50% it descends. Because of this is does not seem to lock attitude very easily. When I run without the camera it is fine and hovers locked at 50% throttle. (everything is calibrated)

Is it advisable in my case to upgrade to a 4S battery. Would this be OK with the 10 inch graupners without overloading the motors, or even cause it to lift off when the motors arm?

Would a 4S battery then give a longer flight time?

yes you want the 4s,,,,,,, they tend to draw mid 30 amp to all 4 motors, i never had any heat with there 2215 motors.

does your tx have throttle trim? did you calibrate it with the trim in the middle or off?

I fly the same with my wookong m setup on 4s and it flys good, hovers at 50%... Even loaded up if you throw it in manual its a rocket

It was calibrated with trim in the centre (no trim), in the assisant when the stick is at 50% it shows as 50%.

I have this all set up now and it hovers in atti at 50% throttle!

Anyone else have this combo that can give me some tips.....

1. What is a good set up for the gains. Ive looked at the google docs spreadsheet but its not helpful when someone says atti gains at 70 and another at 160! Im getting slight oscillations, how do you know which gain to turn down? The naza instructions say what each gain does but I cant find a guide how to tune each individual gain? Any help would be good, or a known decent starting point for this.

2. Running this the motors are getting pretty hot, I have no previous experience to know if this is too hot? Anyone else running 4S / 10 inch graupners confirm the motors run quite hot?

i have found my motors only get slightly warm to the touch... not hot. Dont know what it means if yours are hot and mine not

Elliott: how much weight do you have extra? I have the battery 400grams and gopro and mount 300 grams, so stock F450 + 700 grams. Too much?

what kind of gopro mount are you using
-Eflite 4000mah 4s ,451g
-Gopro in its case on the front, 167g according to their website
-Wookong M which weighs more than naza, 150g
+ f450
