S800 different design model?

If you were flying a RED epic camera or any really expensive camera would you trust a $40 lipo from hobbyking? I wouldn't. They also have a much better power/weight ratio where heavy lifters could carry (2) 4s 11,000mah batteries. Would I buy them for my sport fliers? No. But I did buy a pair for my expensive heavy lifter used for inspection.

Guess i see your point, but max amps? hmmmm had a friend that fried a set, they were good about the awarranty, but man...... i'd be looking what heli guys use, and that aint one of em i see very often at fun flies. Hyperion rolls off my tongue alot faster, but even then there never fresh like a hobby king lipo...

I fly gens ace and turnigy batts in scale helis all the time, 700 size, multiblade vario rigs, never had a problem....... 12s, hold a great IR, got 40ish packs, all are about a year old and all have single digit IR. It is checked every flight, pretty much all you need to know. If the ir's bad, it aint gonna fly, if it's under 2-3 a cell, your flying as good as a brand new pack of any brand

We'll see how they work when i get mine

I agreed. I prefer chose 6s 11A over 6s 15A cuz KG lighter/same price. What is good charger with balancer? I have Bantam BC8DX Charger but I think it's charge current 9A. I'll figure it out. What kind of brushless motors coming with S800?

I do have my doubts that this is all going to plan at this stage of development. I have seen it flying and it was not exactly rock solid. If one looks back at how they started, it may be that they just fell on their feet with the small Flamewheels and the WKM. The scale effect makes these small models inherently more stable than larger ones. That I believe is why they were able to be a little loose with the ESC refresh rates and get away with it. This monster has a different requirement and I don't think the dihedral motor offset will help. If you throw enough money and people behind a new development it will eventually come right. But I would not want to be one of the first to spend money. Again, what is the point of this device if all it can do is lift a Nex.

I also would not want to be first inline to get my hands on this dedicated camera mount. They are saying that it uses a feedback system. I expect you have been following what I have been saying about the pitfalls of this type of system. IT REPLICATES ITS OWN OUTER AXIS. and thus can only create a marginal improvement

My F1 system does not work like that. The camera mount is a rigidly mounted item that is actually now molded into the frame It is very small and looks like an articulated joint. It has the ability to work with a powerful imu that drives the direct drive motors to faithfully reproduce a reverse image of the models own distrurbance i.e. if the model moves in space .005 of one degree then the mount will move that exact amount in the opposite direction. This mount does not extend beyond the width of a GoPro so that it can be placed between the rotors and not be in any propwash.:tennis:

I have not heard of the F1 system. A link please to see the on board footage from this F1.

for 2 magic CF(??) plates, 6 magic plastic arms and 4 magic carbon tubes for landing gears??? Hmm, for me it sounds strange at least

Frame, motors, esc's, props. Arms with built in connectors so all of them can be disconnected or connected very quickly for traveling in a back pack.

Well, I guess s800 owners dont' have to worry about that since the RED epic is well outside of their payload limit. Beyond that, the $3k+ magic gimbal that everyone is waiting for more details on isn't big enough to carry a RED either.

So, if you are looking for a payload like that, I guess this set up is out of the running. Better get a Cinestar 8 and save a few grand in the process. ;-)

Hahaha red camera on dji for me is suicide. Shame is that they locked the camera mount for dji elektronics users only. Lets wait and see in reallife how this will work.

Do people really spend that kind of money on lipos? Can't believe someplace like that's even in business, $400, yea right.

If u have a rig that is worth like 30k $ or even 50k$ then 400$ for lipo is not expensive. Rather have 4 pacs of good bateries than 8 packs of bad ones. Hate to see the rig drop cause of failed lipo. SOmethimes 1 cell cuts off and u drop from the sky like a brick.
