Source for DJI 450 Frame

I found this source for the DJI 450 frame. http://www.heliguy.com/Extras/Multicopter/DJI-Quadcopter-Frame/ I purchased one for less than $50 shipped to the US. I don't know how they will perform but I thought I would share incase someone else is interested.

Edit: Please ignore the above. It appears that Heliguy was not authorized to sell frames individually and DJI has and will not be shipping any frames to him. Looks like a PayPal dispute to get my money back. Live and learn. If anything changes from this I will update the post. Sorry for the false post. It got me excited, especially the price shipped. Oh well.

Thanks Droider, now I feel really good. Just fooling, glad someone got theirs. Let us know what you think after the build.

Will quadcopters.co.uk be selling the frame separately or will it only be bundled with the dji controller? Cant believe how bullet proof this frame is!

I just got confirmation from Alex at Heliguy that my frame has shipped. It appears that at least 4 people were able to purchase the frame before he sold out of the stock he had. Here is a picture he sent me of the 4 ready to ship. Nice to hear that Geoff will be selling them separately as well.

Ye just saw that pic you posted on RCgroups :p But what is the controversy around that he shouldn't have been selling the frames on their own?

Nope you are correct.. I am just about to start a thread on a WMK 450 build thread from start to finish with the best components I can find to use as a bomb proof chuck around and emergency filming / picture quad. From my experiences this last few weeks with this newbe on the block as far a MR's are concerned I have nothing but praise for the system.. I just love the ability to go out and fly with out wondering if my investment is going to go down in an unexplained crunch..

As far as I am concerned its a breath of fresh air as a MR platform fc

Brilliant.. yes there are improvements that could be made the difference with DJI to its really only competitor is that they do listen and adapt very quickly.. Ease of use is frightening to those of us that have invested thousands in other platforms..

Shut up Dave.. I am on a mission!

I don't think so, at least right now. It looks like Alex and Geoff are the only game in town right now. The US distributors were using them as a promotion to new WKM purchasers but now it seems that they will be offering the frame for $80 us. If you look on the DJI site you will see the frame bundled as part of a package. I don't see anywhere where you can order it alone that has them in stock. Unfortunately the price went up from $35 to just over $78.

Is the DJI Frame exactly the same (except color) as the XAircraft X450 Pro? If so what motors are recommended (I don't want to use XAircraft since they require proprietary props) for best overall performance (I believe the XAircraft are 2215/1150) - mostly mounting a gopro and FPV Equipment along with the Wookong.

I thought I saw one version the other day where the two forward arms were red and not the white ones I see now...??

I have seen two versions, one with white arms and one with red. I don't know what we will be receiving from Alex.

@Droider, do you have any idea when he will have them up on his website? Looking forward to you build.

She is nearly done.. Just added rear lights last night so have front lights to add, swap out the motors for the NEW TorxPower 2217/20 equivalents and change the colour of the shrink wrap in the esc's!

would there be interference issue if you made a plastic shroud around the GPS tower? Seems very vulnerable to anything but a perfect landing. Perhaps something plastic that is similar in design to the droidworx cage.

You would be getting it seriously wrong with a WMK to land it upside down!.. Unless you are in manual mode trying to do flips I wuldave thought it by almost impossible unless your battery ran out..

Like here but look Mast still intact!
