I need help with new build

I have just put together my ADX3 with six engines along with Arducoptor. I have had all engines running through the receiver separately and they ran well. Then I connected the receiver and the speed controllers into the Arducoptor and then powered it up, then the motors did their series of beeps
- - - ----
and then they would not move.
Could this be a problem with my receiver or is there a chance that I don't have my transmitter set up properly?
I would love any help on this issue of mine.

Thanks ducky

Have you calibrated the esc's? Also, there might be an arming proceedure.

Cheers,

are you sure the wires for the ESC's are plugged into the Arducopter board correctly? I'd double check that the white signal wire is on the correct side where they are plugged in. Did you calibrate the ESC's individually? This is a separate step from just checking them by running the motors.

Thanks for you imput

If I have got the Arducopter meger do I still need to connect it up to a computer and do some down loads to make my drone fly?
I have calibrated each ESC separately and had the motors running but the was through the receiver and then I tried to run all six through the Arducopter.
When I connect up the power the motors make the right beeps but the blue light on the oil pan stays light on and does not blink to say that its receiving.
Cant wait to get this thing in the air.

Samolde: What firmware did you load to your AC? Could you post your parameters here so we can try to help you.

P.S. You can also post in the Arduino thread and seek their help. Another source is on RCG. The Pirates are advancing Mega code exponentially.

Samoide:

I would recommend that you start here: http://code.google.com/p/arducopter/

This is also a good source of information: http://code.google.com/p/ardupirates/

And lastly you can research here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1286011 and here: http://diydrones.com/

You have a lot of reading and research to do with programing an ArduCopter Mega. The flight controller is not the most user friendly one on the market especially if you have not been involved with programing an Arduino. You will need to download the Arduino 0022 programer from here: http://arduino.cc/. After you have that then you will have to follow the instructions on how to program the Mega and set the parameters of your build.
