Hi ik am new on the forum but now a lot about the Phantom, 3 weeks ago had a fly away du to my own fould, not looking for home lock :-( expensive error but what can you do? only than buing a new one.
Well now the new 3 series would be logical, but i am still not sure becouse i still have new expensive battery,s not compatible with Ph 3, the device does not have flying on waypoints like the Ph2 and cant get higer than 1500ft?
Olso the latest Ph2V3 doe have nice updates like the better motors and olso a better compas and locking device, so what to do??

The Phantom 3 has a much better camera/lens combination. That's the factor that would make me go for the P3.

Thats tru, but the Ph2 olso takes super pictures with 14 megapicel camera and filming in full HD, i know that there will be a update in order to fly groundstation as well for the Ph3 but still 1500ft is to low for such a expensive drone, with my old Ph2 with the wifi booster app i could fly over 1 kilometer far! and olso in altitude!
It is cool to fly above the clouwds, with the new one this is not possible anymore, so i stil go for the latest model of the Ph2V3, battery,s olso less expensive and engine,s are the same type as the Ph3
I was verry happy with my Ph2 vision+ untill it flo away...... :-(

it's actually not cool to fly above clouds. please don't. if you want to see what it's like above the clouds either buy an airline ticket or get your pilots license. being in or around clouds is dangerous for manned aircraft as there's no way for you to see and avoid them while they are being guided by ATC and/or flying on instruments.

FPV is fun, i get it but please recognize that there are limits to what ought to be done and it's up to us to have the self discipline to not do reckless things.

welcome to multirotorforums.com though. I also think the Phantom 2 is still a great little heli but prefer the GoPro version over the one with DJI's camera.

Bartman, i know i,ll fly high only in a verry safe place, now it is not alowed but DJI makes it olso possible so i agee to fly with sense, thanks that you agree about the Ph2 its peformance fot me it is still a great plane, i mean 6000ft distance with the new Ph3 is olso not responcible, it can crasch aswell so far from you, its in my opinion to far from the start position

Personally, I would wait a few weeks before buying a P3. It usually takes a few weeks to a month or so after DJI releases a new product for all the defects to become widely noted. They have yet put to a new product on the street that didn't have one or more problems.

I'm with Bart, don't ever fly above clouds. You cannot see your aircraft, or any other that may soon collide with it. FPV does not provide a safe and reasonable means to practice see and avoid.
