SBus question

Hi

If I've got my Naza connected via SBUS and I'm using channels 1 to 7, am I right in thinking I can't use those physical channels on the receiver for something else?

Cheers

yes, the ch outputs are usually still live and active, on some rx/tx you can swap 1-8 for 9-16 outputs to get full functionality of the systen

So if say channel 1 was aileron on sbus, I can use channel 1 on the actual receiver for say a video switcher linked to a switch?

It depends on the Tx and Rx and even the FC (sometimes). For example, with the Taranis Tx/Rx you can bind the receiver in a mode where sbus sends channels 1 - 8 to the FC and the physical channel ports become channels 9-16. I'm not familiar with the workings of NAZA so someone else will need to address how it works with Naza specifically.

Doesn't work. You can add a decoder as I have to give me channels 9, 10 & 11, or more obviously. Only the top end receivers such as the 7008 can have the physical channels reassigned from 1-8 to 9-16.

I can't vouch for the 9-16 except the fact the manual i linked is that rx..... and i've setup alot of discos using sbus and ch8 on the pwm on that exact rx,,,, never needed more than 8 ch....

my money is it will work, try a servo on the 9-16 outputs and program the radio to transmit 9-16 on the desired switch, read the 14sg manual for programing

Mr take no prisoners!
Just use a second Rx.

If you are not using a gimbal you can pass through the gimbal channels on the Naza and use them.

I use the gimbal channel for gain. It's ok, I'll use my 3 channel decoder, it's already set up as channels 9, 10 & 11. I only need 2 more, so channel 8 for video switcher and 9 for gimbal pitch.

Kloner, I plan to use the R6208SB or R6303Sb, 3/18 Channel Micro S.Bus Receiver, with the T8FG Super on my disco pro since I don't have the EZUHF system and don't plan to fly that far at this time. I will use either 1.3 or 5.8 vtx, leaning toward the 5.8 Immersion. Sounds like you have used this system many times before so what connections do I need to make on the top plate with the rx? Ch. 1 for sbus connected to the ppm output header. Do I connect anything to ch 8 for camera switching? How do I get ch8 to become PWM if I'm using sbus? Do you have a photo of the top plate that show me your connections?

Many thanks as always.

John
