Hi, any advise on how to connect the A2 to 8-12s and still get a voltage reading through the controller? I use U8 100KV motors with 70A HV ESC, Thanks

A dedicated battery for the control system eliminates the risk of a brownout caused by a shorted motor winding etc. As an Electrical Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry i cannot stamp and sign electrical drawings that do it any other way for reasons of safety etc.

One can even feed the dedicated control system battery by means of a PMU or BEC and still meet such safety requirements.

I would prefer not to power from a BEC. Currently I use 4 x 4s 8500mAh batteries split into 2 banks, each bank has 2 x 4s 8500mAh connected in parallel providing 4s 17000mAh, I then tap power from bank 1 for the A2 (4s) I then connect the 2 banks in series providing 8s 17000mAh to the ESC's. The downfall is the plug A providing power to the A2 must be connected first and removed last after flight or the polarity to the A2 will be reversed. I have done several test with the U8 100KV motors X quad-rotor configuration and 29" props, the U8's simply need a minimum of 8s to lift 7kg AUW.
