quick power question

hi all
have an immersion 5.8ghz tx that needs either 3s or 2s power. However I like to run a 4s lipo.

is there a little converter that could step down the power so I can run the tx off the 4s?
Or I heard that you can take power of some of the pins on the 4s balance lead to only access 3 of the cells?

any help appreciated

My immersionrc VTX came with a lead just like you described. Just accesses three cells. I use an EZOSD which has a separate output for the VTX so you can dispense with the balance plug lead when using 4S.

thanks and yes that's the one i've got - I see that the spec does indeed say 2s-6s.
However there are only 2 inputs - one for a 2s balance plug and one for a 3s. need a way to get power to it from a 4s balance plug.....

I just wire them right to the power distribution board right next to en esc or power lead, can also go straight to an esc power pad line on a flamewheel frame. 4s goes straight into that little red and black plug. the red coming out of the 4 pin plug is 5 volts for a camera or hdmi converter.

I used this lead for setup purposes and it worked fine. I don't like leads hanging all over the place so I also wired all my power leads straight to the frame for aesthetics.

PS - Your ImmersionRC VTx should take upto 4S (16V) at least. Mine does I'm sure.
