Hi Everyone!

This is my 3rd "Multirotor" forum to join and I'm finding a PLETHORA of information for Newbies like me! I'm hoping to get some solid advice on:
  1. Simulators
  2. Recommendations for new flyer platforms like the DJI Phantom and DJI Flamewheel F450.
  3. I will try my best to be patient and follow the Crawl-Walk-Run phases of RC Flying.
  4. I eventually want to fly FPV with GoPro filming over water. Specifically shooting surfers from the beach!

I do appreciate any and ALL advice, guidance and wisdom!
Other than the ARF version of the Flamewheel F450, I'm thinking about the Fly Sky 9x radio with telemetry module for starters. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance.

Ubergab :)

A couple of empty, sealed, 24 oz plastic bottles, strapped to a multi-rotor, might prevent sinking, should the craft go down in the surf. I plan to do just that when I fly over water at the lake this summer. Of course the water will still do it's damage but vehicle recovery might be better facilitated. In addition, you'll want the GoPro's waterproof housing in place.

welcome. be careful around these places, they numb you to the point thousands feel like pennies and next thing you know theres 6 of em.

Seriously

We got a skyjib going together to carry big cameras 2 man doing pretty much strictly filming surfers...... we don't need no stinking bottles. When it goes down in the salt water, there aint much left

Dunno how far you are, but if you get a chance to come down to the fpv meet i just posted in the fpv forum here you can see it in action first hand
