Gens Ace 5000mah Hard Case for x8 with Avroto's 2814's

I'm looking for a couple 4s 40 C batteries and am wondering if the GENS ACE 5000mah 4S1P 14.8V 40C Hard Case Lipo


battery would work. With the hard case (which seems to be approved for some buggy race rollers.... ) it will add 10-40g (5-10% extra weight) of weight from similar sized batteries. It also comes with a banana plug which I'd have to change out.

Any one know if these are the same as their softcase batteries.

Using 8 Avroto's in an X8 config with 30amp ESC's.

Those will work. Them 5300 mah 30c work pretty good, but I prefer sky lipo after running those 2 and turnigy the last year, like by the dozen

What do you like better about the sky lipo's. I don't know anything about that brand. I have heard nothing but good things about the Gens Ace, so I'm interested in your opinion.

Are you running the 30C's on you XY8? I know you like to go fast, so if you have enough power from the 30C's, they should be fine for me.

The internal resistance starts out lower. They voltage sag less and have the same outside characteristics that keeps em nice and square. Turnigy 40c are pretty good too. I use 40c sky lipo $40 ish for 4000 mah, come from the US

Seems like many of these batteries are out of stock. Do U.S. peeps usually find them here in the states? Can find other brands at twice the price, but will hold off for a while till I exhaust looking.
