Which XOAR prop is optimal for Avroto 2814-770KV ?

Hi.
I want to buy XOAR wood props for my Y6 with WKM and Avroto 2814-770KV motors running on 4S lipo.
Now I use APC 123.8 on top and 12X6 on bottom.
I heard great things on the XOAR woodies, but for the price of ~15$ per prop I want to order the best I can.

What size of the following is optimal in hover time per mAh ?
Should I order smaller props for the upper motors ?

Anyone had tried them on this motor and can share their experience ?

I just tried the Zoar 12x5 on my 900mm Y-6 with Avrotos could not make the machine happy like the Graupner 11x5. With no gain changes the motors surged up and down in a hover, lowered the gains got a little better but not good. Tried a bunch of different settings with no luck put back the Graupners and everything was normal again strange but thats my experience with the Zoar maybe it has to do with the Coaxial setup not sure. Will try on a 900mm flat hexa and see if it works there.
Also the Zoar 12x5 was not balanced any better than anyother props in fact the Graupner were closer in balance than the Zoars, which for the price I thought the they would be better but not the set I had anyway.

My Y6 flies best with Graupner 11x5. You dont want too much lift. It would be nice to try different pitches for a coax but I cant see the Y6 flying much better. Its more of a controller issue at that point. I do however plan on trying the Xoar 12x5/12x7 on my XY8 as that is lifting much more weight and I have heard good things about them as well.

The weight of the machine is 10.5 lbs and my thinking is I took away disc loading and the WKM does not like light disc loading at all. That could very well be the problem and your right the Y6 flies real good for sure.

michael,
the coaxial arrangement won't like the props being the same pitch top and bottom. like yuri said, 12x5's on top and 12x7's on bottom will work really well. i've just placed an order for Xoar props and may have enough to send you a set for your y6. i'm hoping to have them by the end of the month.
thanks,
bart

Thanks that would be great. I have tried 12x3.8 and 11x5 and 11x4.7. You may be right maybe larger props may not like being the same because of less disk loading. Let me know when you get them.

Yeah, my Y6 weighs 7.75lbs AUW. BUT, mine flies great with 11x5's top and bottom and I know a handful of others than can attest to this as well.

Mine fly great too with 12x5's top and bottom but fly better with 12x7's on bottom

Which version firmware are you flying. Mine is still 4.0 I would have check to be sure its assistant 1.11. What is the weight of your machine as well. Just trying to sort things out a little.

Bartman,

Which sizes have you ordered, I would like to order some Xoars as well.

The only source I know is 1001copters.

I'm eager to see a review of the JFX props.

mailman35: what was your source regarding HI Model being the OEM for xoars? Just curious.

BravoGolf,

JXF is the Chinese manufacturer, XOAR is the importer in California. It says on the JXF website.
