Where's the fun gone ?

I am the construction side of Zaxis. I don't fly, just build. Its been a wild ride from our first Mikrokopter, thru Droidworx Y6, X8, TBS Disco and their rebuilds over the past 3 years. Inventing things as I went along, servo driven home built gimbal, LED drivers and rigs and so on. Figuring out just how to mount those ESC's and get power to them. Cramming a silly amount of flight control, radio and telemetry gear under the dome. Worrying about the quality of soldered joints and finding nice connectors to use. Figuring out how to use Xbee, Bluetooth, 2.4 Ghz, 5.8Ghz gear. Deciding its time to jump to brushless gimbals cos they just about work now. The list goes on.
Pure commercial considerations mean we just bought an S1000, I've spent the day building it up and I'm bored to hell. Its pretty much plug and play. Is this my future just plugging this into that? I'm not even a 'solder monkey' anymore. A days work and that's it.
Anyone else in the same position? Anything I can do about it?

Sounds like you have a bad case of cabin fever and I'm right there with ya. I flew yesterday for the first time since November and then four months of hibernating and rebuilding. I think the cure is to, go out and fly! :)

Andy- It sounds like you are a little burned out and need a brief break from the current routines. Maybe janoots2 has a solution. Take care. Have some fun.

I too miss the days spent training my soldering skills before messing up a tiny electronic part. Plug n play is nice but you don't get the same feeling of achievement when you are done.
