US businesses eager to increase sales volume on product shipped to neighbouring countries would be well advised to seriously consider more than one shipping service for their products. In the case of shipments into Canada, it is well known that one particular courier service charges an excessive flat rate brokerage fee well above and beyond what all other courier services charge!!!!!
A flat rate $50 brokerage fee for a $25 parcel is not the way to run your business or to buy products from US sources.
Many items formerly purchased by Canadians from US sources are, as a result of the excessive courier fees, purchasing in bulk now directly from Honk Kong where shipping costs typically remain well below $15 per parcel.:highly_amused:
