Switch setting on DX8 - cannot seem to communicate in Assistant

Sorry, this question has probably been answered somewhere, but I can't find it.

My receiver is using Gear channel to output to X1 on the NAZA Lite GPS. I'm using a DX8.

I have the Gear channel mixed to Aux 2 so I can use a 3 position switch for Attitude, GPS, and Manual modes.

I cannot seem to get the switch to do anything in Assitant. I suspect I dont have the switch set up correctly in DX8 but cannot seem to figure it out.

Well, After much experimentation and moving the RX to the Aux1 channel and mixing to Flap switch, I finally got the thing to configure properly in Assistant. I Hope! We'll know for sure after the first test flight. Weather here is terrible again.
