Sony QX1

Hey Gang,

I was wondering if anyone out there is using a Sony QX 1 camera. I see a lot of great potential with this unit. It is tiny and very light weight, takes the Sony E-Mount lenses and has the same sensor as the newer NEX and RX100 cameras (20.1mp). The only thing I can't figure out is how you would go about triggering this beast. it's designed to clip on to the back of a smartphone, which you also use to control it. Because of this, there is no real body to the camera (including a LCD). I know that some people have used this one, I'm just not sure what the workflow looks like. Anyone care to share their experiences?

I was looking at this camera but video is only 30p and it weighs nearly as much as the RX100iii without a lens. I was in discussions about this camera on another forum and it can be triggered. If your still interested and I can find that info.

Take a look at this comparison with the RX100iii. Once you add a lens your actually heavier in most cases. I am very interested in the A5100 myself.

You might want to also look at the A6000. I'm learning one now and it shoots nice stuff. No 4k and macro needs some help though. There are some triggering devices and HDMI converters available that can be used on an MR.

I'm using the A6000 now and the NEX 5 prior to that. This would be a weight savings for me with that in mind. Thanks for that link, MacTadpole! That's exactly what I was looking for.
