Settings HobbyWing 70A Pro

Hi MRF-ers,

I finally found the time to build my new ship. Previously:
http://www.multirotorforums.com/showthread.php?6023-Wookong-M-setup-that-just-works

Submitted this new thread to be more of a general discussion about the HobbyWing Pro Series settings.
Seems like the Platinum 40A version have many of the extra functions over the FlyFun series.

In short my setup:
- CineStar 8, 3X gimbal, FS700
- DJI Wookong M
- AXI 2826/12
- HobbyWing Platinum 70A-HV
- 5S LiPo batteries. 5S2P

Questions:
I did a lot of research on ESC settings and HobbyWing ESCs in particular. As almost everybody uses the 40A HobbyWings there is not much about these HW70A ESCs.

1) What timing setting to choose? The HobbyWings ESCs regularly used only have 3 options, “Low - Medium - High“. With these I could choose some kind of angle? Which one applies to the AXI 2826/12 motors? Or where can i find more info about this and ‘calculate’ it myself? Tried different settings and they all ‘work’.

2) Which PWM frequency do i need? 12KHz or 8KHz? The manual says 8KHz is suitable for most motors but default is 12KHz. Confused why they set 12KHz as the default since 8KHz is ‘safer’.

3) I choose for Battery Type Ni** to ‘disable’ the low voltage cutoff. I do unstand why, covered widely on these forums.
But what about the last Program Item “LiPo”? Do i pick '5S' or 'Auto'? When i save Ni** in step 2 (Battery Type), this title doesn’t change to Ni**. Very confusing, afraid the ESC will do crazy things as its told to be a NiMh type battery but the 5S setting (lowest possible) is set as 5S (what it is for real). Hope you understand what i mean. Hard to put in words.

(please refer to “Programmable Items”)

I use the HobbyWing LCD Program Box for programming.

**Please no discussion about the 70A ESC’s being to heavy, overkill, inefficient etc. There was enough said in my previous topic. It is what it is, i’ve got these, just trying to set them up right.**

I already contacted AXI and HobbyWing for their opinions/recommendations. Hope to get response soon. (HobbyWing auto-replied having Chinese New Year)

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

John.
