RTH on FW 5.16 - Problems

I took my 800 up today to test my FPV and iOSD components in preparation for GCS control. The flight was going well in ATTI and GPS mode, I decided to test the RTH switch to see if it would function. When I activated RTH the S800 turned and took off at a steep angle (almost flipped upside down) back to my position went past its home location by several meters and was not stable at all, almost lost the copter. I was able to regain control and land. Is the RTH switch function broken in the 5.16 FW? What would happen if I lost RX signal and WKM went into failsafe, would I have the same results as using the RTH switch? Thanks.

Did you have full GPS lock? I see lots of tall trees. Have you checked the data logger on the iOSD?

I had full GPS lock with 12 satellites, never dropped below 10.

I thought that was one of the things they fixed in the latest Version 5.24.

I use rth on 5.16 with no problems in one year. If you lost radio then yes it would trigger your fail safe. Did you check for the fast green flashes before takeoff?

Are you using the gimbal outputs from the wookong? If so, try turning them off md giving it a try. I had that problem. When I switched to the brushless gimbal and turned off the wookong gimbal outputs, the problem went away.

I usually never takeoff without see the fast green flashing, but I can recall if I saw them this time around.

I have gimbal controls disabled in the WKM and nothing in the ports.

Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and try again if the RTH works in 5.16......
