Return to Home Switch

I would like to set up a return to home switch using the failsafe and still have my 3 flight modes available. I have my flight mode switch on my Spektrum DX8 set for Normal, ATT, and GPS and then if I flip my Throttle Hold Switch I set it to go to Fail Safe in the software. Then if I go in to my throttle curve I can set a % for throttle to hold at, that the throttle goes to when you flip the throttle hold when it goes to Fail Safe. Do you think that will work? If so what % should I set it to and will the DJI-M take it from there and be able to control the throttle on the return home?
