Recommended places to fly drones in Queens, NY

I just got my first drone and I wanted to test flight around Queens. Can someone recommend a place in Queens, please? Since this is my first/test flight, is there a group that I can join to help better my flying skills?

Most all of New York is a designated "no fly" zone due to it's proximity to airports.
