Recent Firmware Bug - Seeking clarification!

The following notification from the manufacturer states a factory shipment cutoff date such that controllers shipped before that date are OK as is. But if after that date, it needs to be shipped back to the manufacturer. I wanted a long time for this item and do not want to personally get caught up with the RMA return policy etc.

But how do I determine if the one I ordered was shipped before or after that date? It came in from China through a USA reseller with their own shipment and warehousing time delay issues likely making it very difficult for our local Hobby shops to determine the manufacturer's shipment date.

I plan to use it for an S800 in the near future. It arrived yesterday at the local hobby shop such that I have not yet paid for it or picked it up although I remain tempted so that I can get on with my project(s).

You have just to read the document you give the link and you know ....... the models are not the same as you can see!
 

Aaah yes indeed!!!!.... not obvious at first and 2nd glance but there are black strips @ 1 o'clock and 11 o'clock on the safer units.........and thanks for pointing out this important detail...........
