Hoverfly Quick question about HFP + ESC

Looking to buy my first HFP board this week but needing to know if I can use my old DJI 30A OPTO ESC with it? I understand that it does not have built in BEC.

Yeah, I can blow that up.
I haven not heard anyone having an issue with that ESC and HFP. The fact that they do not have built in BEC only means you will need a dedicated BEC to power your RX. I use RCtimer opto esc's myself. They don't have built in BEC's either. The HFP board itself can run directly off of your flight batteries.
