Hoverfly Powering off 6S lipos...

HFP has a 18v input max. Those here that are running 6S... I know the HFP has on-board 5v regulators so we need to run a UBEC... but are you using 24>12v or are you going lower? Just curious... ;)

was tapping the balance harness but have switched to a small 3S lipo with a switch. this is also powering LED's, HF Gimbal, Hitec Optima Rx, and will power my brushless gimbal when it's done (minus the HF GImbal).

Thanks boss :)

as an aside... what is the HF Gimbal like to setup compared to the HFP settings? Similar (with the addition od another axis)? I may be about to assist a HFG and AV200 360 setup.

pete,

there are more settings for the GIMBAL than there are for the gimbal controls in the PRO board. funny thing is, with all the settings there is also an automatic setting that makes it like the PRO to set up. all in all, i had it going in an evening and now i'm trying to get the hang of fine tuning my new gimbal.

As I am helping someone 800Km away on another island, that was just what I wanted to hear!

keep in mind you have to set the orientation BEFORE doing the gyro calibration. with each orientation, UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT/etc. become different relative to the board so it has to be told ahead of time how it's going to be mounted so it can get the directions correct during the calibration.

Sweet. He is on the delivery list - a week or so.

His SJ Lite Ti hexa had it's second uncommanded Naza V1 ATTI (non gps) uncontrolled oscillation + crash (no damage - very lucky) in perfect air, perfect 20' hover in 10 hours of testing... and the Naza is going in the bin. (for the record, the vender recommended the NAZA to him as they use it on most of their prebuilds). I have recomended a HFP and yesterday sort of decided it...
He has on-board video and we will put it up here at some stage... you can hear some motors throttle-up, others down just before the oscillation - and you have no control over it. He didn't get a chance to hit manual mode... not nice!
