Desperation? That's defined as rash or extreme behavior. That's clearly not the case here, this is calculated.

This is a pure business tactic, to sell more than the competition through the muscle of lower manufacturing cost, achieved from high volume, greater than anyone else. It's clearly an effort to discourage or impair innovation from DJI competitors through lower profits from lower sales. With Solo failing, Yuneec's TH is the closest competition to Phantom 4, with Autel X Star P (similar in function to Phantom 3P, except range) coming in a close second at even lower pricing. Popcorn time.
