I am building a Tarot FY680 using dys simonk flashed 40A BEC OPTO ESCs and a DJI NAZA V2 with GPS. I have some confusion as it was mentioned to me that I may have to remove the red wire from the connector on my signal wires from the NAZA controller to the ESC if it was not a DJI ESC. Can anyone shed some light on this as I was sure that so long as it was an OPTO I would be ok??? Also I am noticing that almost everyone is mounting their ESCs onto their chassis using zip ties and with the flat part of the ESC facing upwards or away from the chassis. Does that not put electronics part of the ESC in danger of damage from vibration? Why not mount them with the flat side down, or towards the chassis for a more secure mount? Is the flat part of the ESC a heat sink?? If so then that would make sense.
