Newbie to quadcopters

I wanted to start a thread to help someone like me getting into this either as FPV or for commercial.

I opted to go with the Xaircraft X650 a few links that are pretty obvious from one setting it up are. now with hthis WIKI use google alot because there are many sub links within the wiki that i would never have found . such as setting my ahrs, or calibrating my camera mount.

Another forum that has a wealth of knowledge is this
http://www.rcgroups.com/multi-rotor-helis-659/
Now there is I think 200 pages of information so be patient on here use google again to research questions.
Now for me I had lots of questions for LIPO batteries and I did wreck a 100$ battery after 3 flights on it. due to not timing the flight correctly Always use a timer on the flight!

Now someone on a budget that wants a quad should look into either the guai 33 or the x650 they are cheap and VERY easy to fix , you will brake arms, landing skids, etc.
my landing skids are full of popsicle sticks and electrical tape now if I have a hard landing with all the electrical tape nothing brakes it just bends. Everything is cheap to fix.

I will keep adding stuff as i think of it. but my best advice is to use google and youtube. There is a wealth of knowledge even if it seems that there isnt!

Yep Google and youtube are great, but there is a wealth of information right here. the hours spent by some of the members of this forum are invaluable and all will share their knowledge freely.. Some times its just asking the right question that makes um spring in to action and post an answer that only time and on their own part has given them the knowledge to be able to answer. Give the guys here a whirl for out that springs to mind... then go search google and youtube,
