No not in the UK, its legal to fly a multirotor for hire and reward as long as you have the paperwork.
Funny how this story has been picked up all over the place yet that company has been trying to get in with newspapers for more than a year. Its only the Murdoch connection that is getting people het up.

I doubt if the FAA will do anything as normal. Once the rules do come in though, watch out!

"operate for up to 70 minutes!?" I think the news guys are getting some misleading info on these drones. No way that can stay aloft for that long.
