Multirotor Remote Landing

Has anyone been able to work out a method so that they can land safely at a significant distance, such as at the pin of a fairway while still standing on the tee box?

So far I have been flying to the pin then back for a safe landing close to TOP at or near the tee box...... seems much safer to me.
Remote landing IMHO would require the FPV camera to be aimed straight down and with absolutely no drift horizontally and until the MR landing gear aligns with the landing gear shadow. And I doubt that the OSD altitude could be relied upon for the kind of vertical precision required for such a landing.

Well, if you were using Arducopter then all you would have to do is flick it in to 'Land' mode and guess what, it would land. The landing I did with with Arducopter's land mode were often times smoother than I could do myself. Very impressive. Then again, maybe I'm just a bad pilot. :)

Mine is the DJI A2 system and I had the WKM before that......... Maybe I am missing something in the documentation, but I don't recall a ways/means to land remotely unless battery level 2 landing is forced. Last time that happened it was drifting sideways and flipped over several times when it touched down.

Failsafe feature in A2 and WKM is hover or return home to land...... no option to land remotely.

put on a pilot's camera that points vertically downwards. With iOSD you can have one facing forward and one facing down and then using your remote you can switch between the two.

I've never used A2 or WKM, but with Naza M you can set failsafe to either RTH and land, or simply land in place using the Assistant software. Maybe you can do that with the other DJI controllers too?
