Multirotor Frame Color

Most of the frames that I see for multirotors are carbon fiber black. I like the look, but to the general public some of these craft may look menacing. Do you think friendlier colors will ease fears of these aircraft flying? I've seen some pretty wild colors: Pink, camo, black, yellow, red, blue etc.

I know DJI's F550 frame sport red and white. To some it looks like a toy (even though it's not). The colors also help with orientation of the craft. Draganflyer is offering different colors for one of their products.

Someone thought that my multirotor was a police drone. lol. There was a police foot pursuit in the area I was flying the day prior so the crazy assumption was made.

Theres two sides to this and to be honest either side is just a matter of preference. I personally dont care what the public think, because most really dont know enough to pass good judgement anyway.

Yes painting your multicopter floresant pink will make it look a lot less menacing but in my opinion should just go for the style and colour you like, not what others think.
I personally love the military done look. I know it doesnt help reduce the fear of the public but I think it looks so much more proffessional than multi-coloured copters, in addition that kind of look commands respect and doesnt make it look cheaper than it is. I dont want my 2k multicopter looking like something that could be bought for £30 at a toy shop. My quad that I'm working on is mostly gray and partly black. Even though most parts are made out of woven CF I have spray painted it because I'm quickly getting bored of the default black CF look.

I agree with you. I choose a color and style that I like since I built it/payed for it. I like the military drone look too. I might even give it some sort of a camo pattern.

Maybe im wrong but military drones are normally always gray although white or black would keep the same kind of look. The problem with camo is that it will be hard to find if you ever crash in a bushy area.
