Motor lube check...

Hey folks,

I have a product called Dri-Slide that I was wondering could be used for lubrication on the motors/bearings. It is in a liquid form to creep into small spaces that dries to a Moly film. It resists dust and debris which I think would be useful in this type of application. Is this kosher for lubing the motors?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't waste time lubing the sealed bearings on your copter. I bought a bottle of bearing lube from my LHS a year and a half ago and probably have used 10 drops in that whole time. I'm not sure you'd want something that dries on something that spins at extremely hi speeds, just buy some replacement bearing sets for your motors and swap them out if and when you think you've f upped a motor.

In a word - no :)

Your bearings are factory-fitted with grease. So no to Dri-Slide, no to dripping oil (of any kind) on the outside of the shield. Period.

I agree with tstrike - if there's a problem, swap them out.
