Main board on Battery Strap

Hello, new to hobby and forum. Please don't haze me too much but I cut a battery strap that was holding the main board to house a larger battery. The battery fit barely but was nearly impossible to remove. Based on the outcome can I assume that the main board electronics need to be level to operate correctly? The hovering and pitch and roll seem ok but when I yaw the unit just flies across and down and out of control which made me believe at first I was in mode 2 but am not. The main board is now angled which I can repair but just checking the board needs to be level to the unit to operate correctly. The is a basic syma X5C-1 which was a nice flier and met my current skills and needs. Thanks for any advice.

sounds more like a balance problem then anything try to get everything lvl as possible move the battery to where its center of gravity is equal as much as possible.

its possible that when you yaw the two counter motors cant handle the sudden movement
