Less obvious uses for MultiRotors ...

A casual conversation with an interested observer at a recent outing brought up the gem that he had seen these 'quadcopter things' before. One was being used by the owner of a camp site in SW France to check the status of his 1000 odd pitches so he could rapidly see if campers had checked out and what vacant spots he had, all by just walking ouside his office, going for a quick flight and looking at his video downlink. Brilliant use !
Just wondering if anybody had come across any other less obvious applications for MRs ?

I have in the past flown every marina in the British isles at specific dates to determine how many boats were in dry dock. This info tells the main operators who is financially in good shape and who needs to be taken over. Not really a job for a UAV but you get the idea. It took best part of a week using a Seneca.:tennis:

i got accosted by two local farmers on saturday when flying my hexa near their fields & they asked if it could be used to check the progress of crop growth or livestock herd's over several fields with the camera. Different but possible. They also offered me the job but i declined.

A general decline in the construction industry has slowed down progress recording but it is still a major requirement. The materials and equipment on site at specific times must be shown in a high degree of detail. Better done at lower level offered by UAV's The QS is the man you need to know. he decides who gets paid and when. Backhanders from the client and the contractors.....
