Just getting my feet wet with multirotors. I fly planes big and small and helis, want to learn about multirotors also

well you've come to the right place! with what you're doing with foamies and giants, you should have no problem with multi-rotor helicopters. FPV racing is exploding right now, there's a group build that we're about to get started with in the beginners' lounge if you're interested in doing that before the FAA slams the door on it!!

Can anyone give me any info on the Q 500 typhoon

they were supposed to send us one for review but then pulled a crazy ivan on us. the walkera one looks promising as does the Ora from Hobbico. Blade has a RTF quad also in the same class.

a small step up from there would be the Iris+ from 3D Robotics but it won't be quite as plug and play as the others.
