Is FPV more likely to crash?

Reading through basically ALL of the beginners lounge, I see a few references to FPV and usually referenced with banging into a tree or coming in contact with the ground in a less than elegant fashion.

Is this generally just a more difficult flying accessory?

Easy? You call that easy?
No, it's not. Reading through the forums you'll notice even more crashes without FPV. The trick is to know your limits when starting out. Fly slowly, keeping a large distance between you and obstacles. If you want to fly closer, edge in slowly to see how the camera changes and have a look with your eyes to see how close you really are.

I find FPV invaluable for getting close to things.

I also find my FPV extremely helpful when I'm far enough out that I can't determine with my eyes, which way I'm facing anymore (meaning my copter). If I have landmarks around like a lake, mountains, or houses, I can tell by looking with the FPV. I love it! Also a quick look at the compass can help. Tough being a noob.... :02.47-tranquillity:

Mr take no prisoners!
As long as you can fly LOS a bit FPV is pretty easy.
