How much Ampere from DJI Wookong M

Hi Wookongfriends.
does anybody know how much Ampere i can get from the Wookong BEC ?
i use a retracting landing Gear, wich gets its energy from the reciever, and i would like to power some 3 Watt Leds
with a rc switch modul. But that means, that the LEDs are also powered via the reciever/ Wookong BEC.
i didnt find something about this in the manual and i am a bit afraid that it will be to much.

Hi Jochen,

I wouldn't do that. I know right at the begging when the PMU came out, they published the amount of A the Bec in the PMU can deliver, i can't find it anymore though.
I don't know how the PMU is set up and if the BEC included also powers the Can-bus thus all the components like the MC IMU anything thats on the can-bus. The PMU is your life line though and if anything happens to
it your bird will go down ( that again not knowing if the BEC only powers external devices and there is another regulator for the can-bus). Nevertheless don't risk it !

Whats the story with your landing gear do you know how much it pulls if the motors stall ?

Agreed... don't compromise your flight control system by tapping in to limited resources and/or causing large power draw or an electrical short....... Swiss Air - Peggy's Cove air disaster comes to mind here!

Suggestions: Don't use 4S batteries and don't attach a voltage regulator to get volts down from 14.8 to 11.1, just install a very small capacity separate 11.1 volt Lipo dedicated to these lights only. The dedicated battery is about the same weight and size of a voltage regulator and you won't be wasting electrical energy in the form of heat. If you are running out of spare radio channels and are using ppm or s.bus/d.bus you can use one of your previously configured transmitter switches to simultaneously control your LED lights. In my case the LEDs come on when I switch from attitude mode to GPS mode. The LED output just connects to one of the remaining Receiver dedicated servo output ports.

im using the photohigher landing gear with the Savöx Servo 2270SG.
At the moment it gets the energy via the reciever/wookong.
Do you think its better to use an external BEC and connect the servo only via the signal cable?

Japp I would recommend that ! Not sure can't find the Savöx current draw info but a stalling servo over you receiver getting its supply from the MC ... PMU i would not recommend.

I personally only use these BEC really small adjustable to different Voltage and up to 10 A output etc.

Just watch out you need a USB connector from them to adjust the V and to do firmware upgrade etc.

On the Wookong BEC is a 5Volt 3A sign.
I talked to Savöx and they say that the servo might take about 2,5 A when the servo should be blocked.
The WKM takes 0,9 A on 5Volt.

That means changing to an external BEC is a really good idea.
