For what it is worth.....
A large 468 landing gear and gimbal assembly was modified to accomodate a new GoPro3. The short carbon fiber tubes were discovered to be carbon fiber arrow shafts. Longer tubes were cut and installed to add stronger support for larger and heavier MR. Plastic eave trough pipe was found to be extremely well suited for housing the GoPro3 with some added foam rubber padding. A duplicate hexplate was cut from 3/32 inch plywood reinforced with a thin sheet of fiberglass on top and bottom.... then painted black. White foam rubber pads were added to the top to dampen vibration between the MR and the the landing gear/gimbal assembly. This assembly is held on to the MR with several tiewraps. Will do some testing and a video soon. Total weight of gimbal + landing gear is 300 grams..... will try to knock off another 100 grams by replacing landing gear G10 with pieces cut from carbon fiber plate.
