Hi all, I'm Francis, a design student from the chilly north east coast of England. At the moment, I'm on a university placement at a UAV manufacturer in Ireland, and after 3 months working here designing multirotors, I'm utterly hooked 
Whilst I've never flown a heli or multirotor before, I've been interested in RC for most of my life, having designed and built projects such as hydroplanes and a SAR UGV (my A-level design and technology project which got completely out of hand!)
At present, I've designed several frames for my employer: a little quad, a large-ish hex, and a pretty big octo. I'm also currently designing a quad for myself for some recreational fun FPV flying and aerial photography.
Some of my other (numerous) hobbies include photography, music, art, surfing, and road cycling.
Anyway, with my build approaching soon (parts on their way from Foxtech as I write this,) I suspect I'll be spending more time perusing these forums, so I look forwards to my time here!
