Hoverfly HFP- Camera Settings Don't stick

I am having trouble setting up my camera gimbal with my HFP. I get it all set level on the workbench and sometimes that works for a flight or so but then eventually on one of the next flights it will tilt on the roll axis so the horizon is no longer level. I have gone and reset horizontal level on the roll axis a number of times. I just finished doing it again but I assume it will go out of whack again. Any suggestions?

Does it need to be perfectly level horizontally when you engage power to the system? (I am using the latest firmware)

All I can say is Good Luck, that's one of the reasons I don't use my HFP anymore, spent way too many hours doing gimbal setup, over, and over, and over...

marlon,

are you letting everything get situated before connecting to the computer and trying to connect to the setup utility? i've found if i don't go through the steps very slowly and patiently to get to the camera config tabs, my settings don't come up correctly.

what i've found is that if i run the setup utility and then connect the USB to the HFP, and then wait for the purple LED to begin flashing before clicking the connect button, my settings will transfer correctly.

also, i don't think you can land and remove power from the helicopter with auto-level selected without messing up your settings. i'm starting to think you absolutely have to have auto-level deselected when you remove power from the flight control. it also seems that the camera has to be set up after the helicopter has been flown and the auto-level has been trimmed.

i'm not having the same problem you're having but it has been a bit of a challenge to get my brain wrapped around what the needs of the FC are to be consistent from one flight to another.

Marlon,

I think the strategy is to make your first flight and get Auto-level trimmed. After that, set up the camera mount as best you can and fly/adjust/fly/adjust until it's perfect.

I'm not sure but I think powering down with the auto-level engaged screws everything up. I really don't like using the trims to make it fly correctly and I'm trying to think of other ways to do this so that I can do anything I want with the auto-level and it won't screw other stuff up.

Good luck with it.
