Mikrokopter Hexa XL CW motors get warm... big questionmark

I have encountered a strange problem.

As I was doing some long flights today, I noticed that suddenly the Hexa yawed to the right and left stick input had little influence. Basically - giving full left yaw only stopped the right yaw movement and at least it was possible to land the machine.

So - inspecting the Hexa showed that all the 3 CW motors were warm and all the 3 CCW motors were cold.

There must be some connection here... Testing the motors separately showed no strange behavior, all of them worked fine, but I am yet to measure the current for each motor with the same RPM.

I checked all the parameters in the MK Tool and all was normal. Took another flight, gave some serious throttle inputs to load the motors. And as a result the same thing happened again - it yawed to the right and I had to give left stick to compensate. And again - the CW motors were warm, and CCW motos cold.

Any fast suggestions from someone?

BTW - one of the moros is MK3638, the other 5 are MK3538s.

What firm ware u on? Quadcopter uk had a similar problem today and he went back to 0-82b? I think that was the previous release. Stopped the yawing. Check your compass to see if it is jumping all over the place.

My best guess:
The 3 hot CW motors were trying to counteract a hard right yaw. Then one of the ESCs started to give up and the other two couldn't maintain so it spun right. What kind of frame? Check that all the motors are vertical. If a motor's tilt is trying to push the frame right, then 3 motors will work very hard to counteract. It will especially noticeable at heavier loads.

BTW, there's a similar thread at mk.us.

Isn't there something in the new MKTool that shows natural yaw tendency? Something to do with that new balance screen?

Welcome to MultiRotorForums.com!!
I've experienced brown-outs where the batteries couldn't provide the current late in the flight to keep it together and it showed up as uncontrolled yaw.

hevi6000, did your problem occur late in the flight? what props are you using?

thanks,
bart
