[HELP] Scratch Metal Frame

Hey,

I had a couple of questions about making a quadcopter frame out of metal.

First off, What metal should one use?
What time of software would one need to go about designing one?
Are there any plans out there that I could also use?
What is a decent weight for a quadcopter frame?

My girlfriend's father makes gun suppressors for a living. This being said, he has a huge shop filled with metal cutting/forming machines. The idea came across me recently to fix up a frame using his professional level machines.

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

Weight is the most critical part in any flying machine.....so metal and quadcopter won't go well together. There is a guy in France who makes frames from Alu:

Although I like the design, I am not sure if it makes any sense....but you might contact him, he is a very nice guy and could answer some of your questions.

Better find a girlfriend with some Carbon background in the family......:tennis:
