Help getting flying with my new Hexakong

Hello,

I received my pre-built system today. Here's the specs:
CarbonCore 950mm Hexacopter, 1.5mm Carbon Fibre
Wookong-M Flight Controller
AG550-NX Camera Gimbal
6-Turnigy Plush 40a ESC's
6-Rc Tiger Motors MT3515-15 Motors
2-Power Distribution Boards
6-Graupner 14" Propellers
6-Graupner Spacers

And here's a pic:

I'm stuck in two places. Please consider me a newbie and make the replies very basic. Assume there's something very simple I'm missing. (I used to fly RC stuff as a kid, many many many years ago)
1) I need to figure out which side is the "front" - I can assume it's the one with the blinking light when I plug in the batteries. The side that's "away" from me when I can read the text on the GPS antenna and flight controller and stuff. And I understand I need to put the counter-clockwise (CCW) spinning prop in the front, which is why I am trying to find the front.

2) I can't seem to get the props to spin. I turn on my DEVO-10 transmitter, then plug the batteries in to the hex. All the props give a tiny nudge, then it sits there blinking. I try things on the DEVO-10 transmitter but can't seem to get the props spinning. Can someone please give me a walkthrough on the proper procedure for startup and flight? Something like: First turn on the DEVO-10, then plug in the batteries on the hex, then press DN and L at the same time to start the rotors spinning, then bring your throttle up ... Or something to help get me off the ground.

Thank you!
