Hello from southwest Ohio!

I wanted to say hello before unveiling my problems and showing off my true noob.

I have been lurking for awhile and decided to make my account tonight!

I got the Phantom for christmas and have been reading the manuals, watching instructional videos, & learning the light patterns... the fun stuff!

I am however having an issue where my PC refuses to recognize my USB driver. I have been trying for hours to figure this out...

What I have done:
I have tried every USB port on my Windows 7pro machine... every one
I have tried it on the laptop... still get the same problem.

I have NOT opened up the beast to check the 4" cord...

I fully believe this is an installation issue. I have tried every driver DJI has to offer... I finally snapped a screenshot of the installation...

Does anyone have any insight on this so that I can use the Nazam Assistant? I don't want a flyoff or any malfunctions... This is testing my patience in a major way! Any help is truly appreciated!

Sorry for jumping right in to my issues, but this is maddening.

Good evening from rainy Southwest Ohio!

I got a DJI Phantom yesterday for christmas... opened it at my parents place and gave it a quick flight in their backyard. I did calibrate it and just took a quick spin. Everything was great... it even flew well with the moderate wind....

Today I am home and wanting to hook up to the Nazam Assistant but my computer will absolutely not recognize the USB driver. I have tried every single USB port at least 4 times each on my Windows 7 pro computer. After may 4-letter words and general frustration I have come to the pro's for help.

I have installed and uninstalled the software several times. I have downloaded the .exe file and even the .zip files. All resulting in the same issue.

I have tried installing the driver and software then plugging in the phantom
I have tried plugging in the phantom and then installing the driver/software (I know this way is not correct)

I finally saw an error message when the driver was finishing up. It took me a few tries, but I finally got a screenshot of the error. I hope that someone can help me figure this out. I do not want to have issues when trying to fly this badboy at higher altitudes.

Easy? You call that easy?
Ah, that looks like the problem (the bit where you mention this way is not correct). Actually it is! :) You plug in and power up the phantom to the PC then install the driver (without the assistant program on). It should work then. (And maybe check what your antivirus is doing also)

Let us know how you get on! ;)

SleepyC, Old Ben Kenobi, thanks so much for the replies!

I was able to get this method to work on my laptop, but not my PC. The laptop is actually better, as I can take it with me when flying. I will keep poking around on the PC, but with much less angst! :)

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
