Heading to HK

Hello All:

I am not sure what section to post to ask, but does anyone know if I would actually save if I would purchase some gear in HK or China while I am on my trip?

So far, my window shopping has been limited to Ebay, this forum, and a bit of online ads only. There are some emails going back and forth but, seems like all the contacts I have made are effected by the Chinese New Year.. so perhaps there is some sort of connection to China or HK.

There is not a large selections back home in Kansas City for multi-rotors or even FPV stuff.. everything seems to be geared wheeled and fix wing stuff.

I would like to take a stroll down Kwong Wah street, but not sure if it would be multi-rotor friendly.

I would be open to traveling into China to see a couple of places that makes parts.. I am trying to talk the wife into Shenzhen so I can see DJI or something like that.

Let me know what your thoughts.

you should be able to find hobby stores and even manufacturers' offices in Hong Kong. As for the mainland my experiences are limited to Beijing and Shanghai with Shanghai being the better bet for hobby shops. there are international forums on RCGroups.com and you can ask there for referrals to hobby shops in Hong Kong, you may even see an old post of mine over there.

I can tell you that Kwong Wah Street do not have too much multi-rotor items, try to plan to Shenzhen. Please let us know if you find a good shop in Shenzhen.
