Gimbal options for Iris+

Hey,

I plan on purchasing the Iris+ pretty soon but was hoping to throw a lightweight point & shoot camera on there. However, the only gimbal I saw was a tarot model designed for the gopro. I have a gorpro so that is cool with me but the lens distortion is problematic for photogrammetry and accurate 3d modeling. I am posting to either inquire about possible gopro hardware adaptations like changing the lens or advice regarding mounting a point & shoot onto the Iris+. I don't necessarily need a point and shoot gimbal since it only needs to be facing down but it needs to be secure enough to not fall off mid-flight.

Thanks,

I just ordered an Iris+ yesterday. I've been wanting to get into the "waypoint autonomous" flying, for quite awhile, but could decide on what to buy. I could have just ordered a Pixhawk, and all the necessary extras to make it work, probably well over $300, but The Iris+ seems to have it all, and comes test flown, all setup, even the receiver radio for a tablet or laptop. Can't wait! However, according to some youtube videos, forums, etc. the Iris is pretty heavy for a quad, and I don't think it would carry anything heavier than a GoPro. The new "+" comes with a 5100 mah battery and different props than the original "Iris", so they have been trying to get more flight time out of them.
