Yep, you read it right. I've stripped off all the electronics and put them on my FREE flame Wheel frame from DJI, to see how they do.
My first test was slanted, though, in that it wasn't really fair due to the wind I was flying in.
On the 330x-s the gu-344 wasn't the best controller to begin with, but really became a hand full in the wind. So, I knew this going into the test flight.
On the good side, the Scorpion motors seem more than enough, as are the Gaui esc's. I did cut off the motor pin connectors and soldered on some 2mm bullet connectors, though. Can't believe Gaui used those stupid pin connectors!
Even the 8 inch propellers seem to be fine with the Flame Wheel.
The gu-344 is going into the garbage heap, though. What a totally worthless flight controller. Even their new $1k+ flight controller is a POS.
Read a report from a distributor of Gaui that got one to test out, as he was getting a lot of interrest from customers. His words, " Don't bother"!
Going to try out my fy91q flight controller with just the compass and barometer on it, no gps.
The flight controller was pretty good by itself. It wasn't until I added the gps that things went wrong.
If that don't turn my crank, then a Naza is in it's future. Hell, who am I kidding? A Naza IS in it's future.
Just means that after that I'll want larger motors, esc's, propellers,,,,
