F550 twitch fixed, now constant red flashing lights

Hey guys,

so I'm having a wee bit of a saga... my f550 was flying a little 'loose' then started the twitch a couple of weeks ago so I soldered all of the bullets, taped the side of the NAZA with black tape, found a vibrating motor so changed that, then found a vibrating prop so changed that. Have flown it a couple of times since then, maybe 3 or 4 times, all times it's been loose- by loose I mean that on take off it never lifts straight up, seems to always want to pull to the left, and yaws 15-30deg, it corrects itself from the right on the lift quickly, but then doesn't sit still in hover, it tends to move about a bi, nothing specific each time, random shifts to the left or right, front or backwards, or yawing. not massive shifts, but enough to make it feel 'loose'

It's given me full flashing red lights once before about 3 flights back, but after unplugging and leaving and replugging in it came up all go. But now I only have constant red lights after doing set up/satellite search. I've tried it in a couple of different places, one where I've always been able to get satellites without a problem.

it's only had one 'serious' crash which was into the leaves of a palm tree, was serious enough to break an arm on the machine, but didn't seem to bad, that was a good 2 months and many flights ago.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance!

Is it flashing red while it's flying (like when you get the low voltage warning), or on the ground before you take off (as if it can't find enough satellites)?
Are you running 3S or 4S? Which props? What's your takeoff weight?

In my other multirotors, twitching has always been vibration related. Have you balanced your motors and props? Use one of the seismograph apps on the iPhone to do the motors....it's a lot more accurate than a calibrated finger ;) The Dubro prop balancer is an excellent tool for doing props.

the red flashing is when on the ground pre-flight, but flashing like the low voltage warning

motors are 2212/920KV
4S props 8045

all motors and props were balanced at beginning, but not since

sweet, didn't know you could get a seismograph app, good call!

I'll check out the dupro, thanks!

The app I'm using is called iSeismometer. It shows each axis in its own line. It was still free last time I looked.

Have you checked your voltage settings in the assistant software when you get this flashing? You've tested your battery and know it's ok (hasn't dropped a cell for eg)?

I have a F550 with Wookom-M, 3S LiPo with 100'' props and I had the same problem but was solved with this two steps on Voltage screen of the assistant:

- Calibrate the voltage value, connect a multimeter and compare the value, if they are not the same, set the difference using the calibrate button.
- Set the Loss value, that is at least 0,1 per S of your battery (0,3v on 3S 0,4v on 4S)

As my DX8 transmitter came with telemetry, I installed it and helped me a lot on that.

Thanks guys

will be hooking it up later and see if anything is up.. I'm quite sure it's a voltage thing too..

yeah seismometer is the one I downloaded.. pretty nifty app!

will keep has posted
